NEC names soon, Daza, Majoni safe --MCP

Malawi Congress Party (MCP) has denied media reports that is president John Zenus Ungapake (JZU) Tembo would fire the secretary general and his deputy who are currently in the UK.

MCP secretary general Chris Daza and his deputy Bester Majoni went to the UK and a local media quoted Tembo to have warned that the two risk arrest.

However, MCP administrative secretary said Tembo was misquoted.

“Malawi Congress Party does not fire anybody even if he or she is absent in the country or duty,” said Chidaya. 

He said JZU Tembo conducted a meeting at Chinsapo, in Lilongwe on Sunday where he said central executive committee of MCP has not met to appoint remaining members of the committee.

“Hon Tembo said NEC will be summoned as soon as the secretary general and his deputy return from Europe,” said Chidaya.

He strongly rebutted the repots as false and inaccurate.

“The secretary general and his deputy are on party tour of duty in Europe and how can the president fire people he has given responsibility,” he wondered.

Today it is funny the central people guys say Bingu is tribalistic, let alone the fact that bingu wanted to work together with TEMBO and Gogo boasts he couldnT allow that.

What was the point of holding convention then if the rest Central executive committee members are to be appointed. MCP dont cheat people that ur democratic n UDF its same story.
