Apostle Mbewe delayed visa, misses UK Calvary Church convention

Malawi’s Calvary Family Church founder and president, Apostle Dr Madalitso Mbewe  had his permission to enter the UK delayed  forcing him to miss the church’s annual convention in UK.

Apostle Mbewe had intended to preside over the church’s UK branch’s annual convention for 2012. The convention was to be held from Friday 5th May to Monday 7th May, 2012.

He was supposed to come with a guest speaker at the convention, Prophet Nwaka from Zambia but the British could not grant visas to them in time.

Apostle Mbewe: No entry

No reasons were given to the surprised delegates at the convention on why the two men of God were  not given visas earlier.

According to UK Home Secretary Theresa May “Coming to the UK is a privilege, not a right.”

Came the opening day, many people looked confused as Apostle Mbewe was nowhere to be seen. Later news came in that the two men of God were to arrive the following day as their visas had finally been issued.

But organisers then agreed, presumably with Apostle Mbewe’s blessing, that CFC resident pastor in UK, Pangani Thipa, should officially open the convention.

Organisers could still be seen busy making phone calls and consulting each other something that made a lot of delegates to the convention becoming unsure if Apostle Mbewe had really been given a visa.

It was now evident on the second day that the two powerful speakers were not to attend the convention when their absence could still be felt.

Pastors from other UK churches like pastor Reverend Lokote of Revival Glory House, Rev Mzumala of Living Waters Glory Church and others were quickly drafted into the programme to fill the gap.

But despite Apostle Mbewe absence the convention went on well and it was ably presided over by Pastor Thipa.

The theme to the convention was ‘Dominion of the Kingdom Through the Church.’

Apart from prophet Nwaka other people who were supposed to accompany Apostle Mbewe were his wife, Pastor Rose Mbewe and his son Madalitso jnr.

Last year, former ruling DPP ministers used Calvary Church in Nottingham, UK as a venue where they campaigned for their party and chasticise government critics .
