House wall kills two brothers, seriously injures mother
Two young boys of the same family have died in Salima district after their parents’ house collapsed, police have confirmed.
Salima Police spokesperson Gift Chitowe said the incident occurred Sunday evening as the two boys together with their mother were on the front porch (khonde) of their house.
Chitowe said the wall of the house collapsed killing on the spot two-year-old Alinafe Ganizani. His elder brother Alfred, four-years-old, died later at the hospital.
The mother, Modesta Kanjikwiti, 28, is seriously injured and has been admitted to Salima District Hospital (pictured) where she is receiving medical attention, according to Chitowe.
Chitowe said the house was not in a very good condition as it had huge cracks which might have forced it to collapse.
The three hail from Mfuti village in the area of Traditional Authority Kalonga in the district.
