A source close to the ceremony said preparations for the ceremony were in their final stages.

“We are currently organizing chairs and tents at the venue of the event,” said the source.

Madonna has bought a stretch of land in Kanengo just a few minutes drive from Lilongwe international airport where she intends to build the girls’ academy – an orphanage and a high-tech hospital.

The source said the material girl is expected in the country any day from Thursday.

Madonna has since won favors from the Malawi government which intends to honor her with a child rights award during her visit.

Madonna first came to Malawi in 2006 when she adopted toddler David Banda. She was also in the country earlier this year and adopted another child, Mercy Chifundo James.—Africa News
