Malawi gospel diva heading to UK to perform at PowerHouse church launch
Malawi’s christian music star, Ethel Kamwendo-Banda has been granted Visa by British government allowing her to travel to UK and perform at the launch of Powerhouse International Church on 29 August 2009 in Bradford City.
The gospel diva confirmed to Nyasa Times in a telephone interview from Malawi that she has received her UK visa and would be flying from the southern African country on Thursday and is expected to land at Leeds-Bradford International airport on Friday.
“I am delighted to have been granted the visa. I am leaving Malawi on Thursday and will be in UK by Friday,” said Kamwendo-Banda.
“It will be great to spice up the gospel gathering during the launch of the PowerHouse International Church,” said the artist.
Kamwendo-Banda will be backed by the Powerhouse Praise Team and supported by other England based gospel artists.
Powerhouse International Church operates in three cities; Bradford, Leeds and Leicester with plans to open a London branch soon.
According to Pastor Clement Nkhoma, the church will be launched at a function to be graced by the Lord Mayor of Bradford at Westgate Baptist Church, Carlisle Road, Bradford, BD8 8BY will start at 1:00 pm finishing at 6:00 pm.
“We are a growing Ministry where things (signs and wonders promised by Lord Jesus Christ) are happening and would like to invite everyone to come and worship with us in any of our Church services,” said Pastor Nkhoma.
Kamwendo-Banda will also perform for the church in Leicester City on August 31, Bradford City on 5th September 2009 and Leeds on 12th September.
