Comments on: Malawi Police arrest 169 Ethiopians

As an Ethiopian, it is truly a shame to read some of the comments made by so called Ethiopians. First of all, these are individuals that left their country by choice for greener pasture and Malawi happens to be one of their route. They don’t represent the government of Ethiopia nor any specific ethnic group. So Ethiopians need to stop lying contstantly to themselves and others about the greater prosperuous nation called Ethiopia that doesn’t exist. There is rampant porverty and unemployement that is fueled by a rapidly growing population. The population of Ethiopia more than doubled in less than 30 years. A country as poor as Ethiopia can’t keep up with such demand for resources. And if these people are forced to leave their county and happen to be in Malawi they need to abide by the rule of law in Malawi. I bet they will think twice of repercussions that will follow, if they attempted to do half of the things mentioned back in Ethiopia.
I ask Ethioopians to stop pointing fingures at everybody (Somalis, Eritreans etc) but themsleves. It is only when we honestly acknowledge our problems that we will be able to tackle them. I am sick and tired of too much pride of some minority ignorant and loud people that are nothing but backward and arrogant. Stop telling lies to yourselves face reality.

I am still in disbelief after I have seen such a stupid article published. Though, no wonder this can happen in this era of internet.
In short, what the “Ethiopians” in Malawi are facing now is not new to all Africans (including Malawians). Asylum and immigration has been now a chronic problem to all African nations. Other that this, I did not believe any of the contents of the article. It does not represent by any means Ethiopians. It sounds like a fabrication that was typically written by anti-Ethiopians.

It is extremely deplorable to see some one who has been living in a stone age by making such disgusting remarks.
Let us face the fact that each African nation is strivng to overcome a cycle of horrific hunger and poverty. These refugees are fleeing their country of origin to escape from such gruesome consequences of poverty. The youth have lost any hope to have a better future in their country of origin. So now all the Arican youths wish to be resettled in the Western countries.
Please African leaders take your energy and resources to restore good governance to your peole and give hope to the people.
That is how we can resolve this and other aspects of our problems.
I encourage fellow Malawians to be patient and understanding of their other Africans problems.

It is really appaling to see how Africans of one nation being intolerant and malignant towards their fellow Africans.
Let the refugees would be dealt with according to international humaniterian laws. Where is the concern of the Ethiopian authorities to resolve this crisis.Let us hear from the Ethiopian government side. As I deeply know, the Ethiopian culture does not allow such inhumane robery and stealing behavior being treated as a norm.

Let the Malwi government discuss the matter with Ethiopian officals and resolve this crisis before the angry mob could resort to barbaric acts

Let us also pray to our almighty God to prevail peace and love in Africa.

I know most Malawinas behave like the few of you (Malawian) here behave. Most of you here sound jealous and coward!! First of all don’t ever forget: Ethiopia is the one who gave you your freedom today. If it wasn’t for Ethiopia you were still langushing out under the yoke of british colonization, as slave of the white man. We gave you freedom today and we gave your HISTORY, Religion, everything you be proud of being an African(check African History) and see which country occupy the vast valume it’s undoubtdly Ethiopia and Egypt! Ethiopia leads Africa in every aspect life: sport, technology, military, politics, etc. Isn’t that Ethiopia’s own son Meles Zenawi who represent you all in the World forums (be it G20, G-8), and isn’t Addis Ababa is where your political nerve center exist ? and, guess what if Malawi is attacked by any non-African force today Ethiopia will not hesitate to shad it’s blood there, to keep you free again. So, in light of all that, i said let these refugees go ERITREANS/Somailans/even maybe some Ethiopins, whatever they are let them go to where ever they tend to go.

If ethiopians have got moneys why can’t they use addis ababa airport to go wherever they think they will better there miserable lives??We have never heard anything decent from Ethiopia than clinging to the israelites that they are jews from cooked stories.Come to Malawi you will find them miserably roaming around our villages.Come and pick up your brothers in your rotten filthy ethiopian airlines.Shame on you are not even proud of your colour..you think you will be accepted by a whiteman because of your tan skinned…useless ethiopian dying miserably of hunger.I have been to ethiopia and really a horrible dirty place..get real if you malawians have never been your country.Stop lying here.

This comment is outrageous, a comment I could not hold my peace to express outrage and I know I do so on behalf of majority of Malwians. Look…if passage to the western world is all you are after, why don’t you just get passage to some northern part of African country or the East africa…you are neighbours after all, right? Leave peaceful my and our Malawi alone. Malawians are the most peaceful people the world is ever to know, the most patient etc and you have experienced that, so shut up!!! Meanwhile don’t you be taking their patience and goodness for stupidity!!!!As for beauty and colour of your skin or your women folk…I won’t waste my energy on that you obviously uneducated self absorbed ignorant person. My God will deal with that. Oh, if there are some foks of your kind in Malawi, I hope they get to know that they are not welcome there with a mentality like this…can you tell them to leave please, and like today???
