Malawians should stop talking about regionalism, tribalism and so forth. If there were wrongs in the past, lets correct them now for the sake of our country, our children and every peace loving being in this country. Dissent grows wrath. wrath grows violence and we cannot afford to be at each other's throats in these hard times. Leaders make mistakes too and it is up to us to remain united and focused and advise them. Government is there because of us. United we stand Divided we fall. That was not a fool who said that adage.

Yohannie Mlomba, I agree with Yobu 10:10 that yours an objective nonbiased masterpiece. Only point of correction...It is not correct to say that "at inception 50% of the staff at UNIMA were from the North.." Inception is 1965 and at Chancellor College Malawian academic staff were Dr Chimphamba(Ntcheu)Dr.Z Kadazamira (Dedza) Dr Chilibvumbo (Nkhota kota) and Dr Nelson Mwanza (Mzimba)As you can see Mwanza was a minority. The situation was not too different at Poly Soche Hill Mpemba and Bunda. The numbers of the Northerners only began to increase in the late sixties because they were now returning from Universities from abroad where Kanyama Chiume had sent them nepotistically in large numbers when he was Minister of Education in 1963.Kamuzu kicked him out as Minister of Education a year later but the damage was already done.

Wawamba, and others of you ilk, will you ever stop fabricating falsehoods on these pages regarding this country's liberation?
You assert that in the South it was only Masauko Chipembere who defied Kauzu. What arrant nonsense. Ever heard of Augustine Bwanausi and his elder brother Dr Bwanausi and their sister Diana? Ever heard of Willie Chokani, Lawson Chaponda, Medson Silombera of the Mangochi revolution,John Chikwakwa,to name a few? Do not think that all your readers are dumb.

There you go again with this "Wakwithu" syndrome. You are lazy my friend and you are easily swayed by conspirancies. Please do some research and see for yourself.

Whatever I can- and I grew up in Sunny Side cannot convince you. I can tell you that you had friends when you were younger that you played with and never even considered their tribes and you were fine with it. The same person today; having known that is from the north you will label him tribalist etc even though the nature and nurture has not significantly changed between you guys. That is where I have a problem because you and your friends are masking under this "wakwithu" thing as a rallying element against the north. I have from time to time said this is a case of kettle calling a pot black. The way you portray your subjectivity betrays you much.

Again explain to me wha the difference is by somoebody from Dowa saying akumudzi and somebody from the nort saying wakwithu? Is it semantics and language that one is frowned upon?

Again it's been drilled in your brains from birth that the misfortunes in life are of not your own but somebody else in this case northerners when it comes to school and employment.

I once helped a person from Mchinji with a place to stay and got him through my connections here in the US and even got her a love partner. Guess what I was called later on-inu anthu ku mpoto ndinu odzikonda and selfish. This person was living in a town where the air was full of cow dung stench and I brought her to a city. This is not what bothers me-what bothers me is she had never been in Malawi for more than 10 yrs of her life. She spent more than 17 yrs of her life abroad living with her parents in diplomatic missions-where did she hear these sentiments-from home whereever they were but not Malawi. She had no clue whatsoever. So I put it to you who is at fault here?

Yobu you have not been a victim-I am a northerner living in the US but I am here not because I want to but because the system failed me back in 93 when I had enough points to make it to University but could not because of the quota system. Now that this is back, and my name is extremely northern, I know my chances of employment arevery minimal. So I know how and what am talking about whilst you you are living in conspirancy theories and partly hatred passed on to you that you willingly embrace despite evidince to the contrary of your beleifs.
