Three Malawian are among 120 African youths selected to attend a three-day long US President Barack Obama’s Forum with Young African Leaders from 3rd to 5th August in Washington, D.C in United States of America (USA).

President Obama hosts the forum in honour of the historic moment in 2010  and  the celebration of fifty years of independence by seventeen countries across sub-Saharan Africa.

The Public Affairs Officer John Warner at the US embassy in Malawi said in the capital Lilongwe that the forum is an occasion for young leaders from the civil society and the private sector in several Sub-Saharan African countries to come together with the American government to discuss and share their visions on the future of Africa.

“The three young Malawians will together with the American counterparts share their insights on key themes of youth empowerment, good governance and economic opportunity,” he said.

Warner said the forum will also reinforce mutual respect and responsibility as the foundation of the relationship between and among African countries and of the partnership between Africa and the USA.
