A new Malawian film, ‘No More Tears’ produced by Rising Choreos Entertainment has been launched.
Actress and film director, Joyce Mhango Chavula, who is also the founder of Rising Choreos, confirmed said the film is about a 20 year old orphaned girl who gives up her career to take care of her ailing father who later dies.
“In summary this film talks about domestic violence, orphanhood, love, etc . What follows when the father dies is problem after another as the girl ends up with a man who abuses her but claims to love her,” said Chavula.
‘No More Tears’ was nominated for the “Best Feature Film by a Director” at the 10 edition of the 2014 Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) that took place in May.
It is Chavula’s debut production and stars first timers in the industry, among them Brenda Mselu, Anthony Dumba and Chimwemwe Kunkhanda. The film was shot in Lilongwe city and rural as well as along the shores of Lake Malawi in Salima.
