Former president of Malawi Confederation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (MCCCI), Newton Kambala is leading a new political party which has been formed in the country.
The party will be called United Transformation Party (UTP) and it brings together Malawi’s business captains and other recycled politicians like Ian Kanyuka, Eunice Makangala.
The secretary general on interim basis is Alex Solanke deputised by William Jalani.
Other members include Janet Chikoko, Charles Mwambyale and Nevert Gondwe.
Other sources have linked political rolling stone Humphrey Mvula to the party strategist while economist Dr Matthews Chikaonda is said to be lured to join the ranks..
However, the launch of the party has faced hurdles after some members went to court stopping Kambala from being the interim leader.Follow and Subscribe Nyasa TV :
