Ngalande brace hands Masters first win in Malawi TNM Super League

Robin Ngalande scored a brace as Masters Security registered their first win in the TNM Super League, thanks to a 2-1 home victory over Civil Service Sporting Club at Dedza Stadium.

Masters registered first win

Civil Sporting Club were in front just a few minutes into the first half with Innocent Tanganyika connecting home a Ferguson Mtondo clever ball in the 18 yard box , sending Masters goalie into the wrong direction.

Masters Security were level 23 minutes into the first half with Ngalande tapping in a Tsanzo Dalio pass beating Civil Sporting club keeper Tione Tembo.

Both teams made several substitutions in the last half of the match but it was the individual brilliance of Ngalande that got Masters Security maximum points with a clever run before releasing a thunderbolt that left Tembo napping.

Master Security Coach Benjamin Kumwenda was delighted with the win praising the individual brilliance of Ngalande.

“We are happy we got our first victory against a strong Civo side. Am happy because we have secured the points at home and it’s our wish to have a good record at home. Our target is to bring top 8 football to Dedza people and we hope we can achieve this,” said Kumwenda.

In his remarks, Civil Sporting Club Coach Franco Ndawa bemoaned poor officiating as the reason behind their loss.

“We lost because of poor officiating. We won’t lodge any complaint to SULOM but I hope they are seeing all this mess. I don’t think Masters can go far with this type of football because they know we outclassed them in possession only for poor decisions by the officiating panel. We will go back on the drawing board and see how best to recover,” said the former Nyasa Big Bullets Coach.

Elsewhere, Dwangwa United lost to Mzuni 1-2 at home with Henry Misinjo and Steve Mumba scoring for the Mzuzu based rookies while Patrick Macheso got a consolation for the Nkhota-kota based side.

Blantyre United recovered from a 4-1 beating in the hands of Red Lions with a 4-nil win over new comers Chitipa United at Mulanje Park.

Frackson Chisi bagged in a brace while Jimmy Chikulekule and Sparrow Msowoya shared a goal- apiece.
