Nigerians make headlines in Malawi for wrong reasons: 3 arrested over cocaine
Three Nigerian nationals have been arrested in Malawi’s capital Lilongwe for two separate instances for allegedly being in possession of cocaine.
Malawi Police confirmed that they arrested a Nigerian national Tonney Namani who for alleged possession of a substance presumed to be cocaine from his home base in Area 25 in Lilongwe.
Police said the arrest follows a tip from well-wishers.
The suspect is now at Maula Prison and expected to appear before the court soon.
Police said they arrested two more Nigerian nationals on similar offence after they found them with a bag containing “suspicious white substance”.
