Ninja-man butchers brother in-law: Malawi police on hunt
Police in Blantyre are on hunt for Jones Ziphayo who, on Monday, hacked to death his brother in-law over a land wrangle.
Ziphayo popularly known as Ninja, butchered to death his brother in-law, Patrick Chigwele Msukwa by hacking him repeatedly with panga knife in the morning hours of Monday in Chilobwe Township.
Southern Region Police Publicist, Nicholas Gondwa said in an interview Ninja killed the deceased out of rage after picking a quarrel with his sister [Mr. Msukwa’s wife] over a piece of land.
“On the day of the incident Ziphayo had gone to the victim’s house in search of her sister, but she was not there. Instead, he started chasing a certain girl with panga knife before he turned on the victim, hacking him several time on the head,” Gondwa explained.
Ninja bolted after the incident and the victim was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital (QECH) where, according to Gondwa, was pronounced dead on arrival.
“Postmortem results indicate that Msukwa died due to severe loss of blood,” added Gondwa.
Meanwhile police have instituted a man-hunt for Ninja who was reported to be hiding in Soche mountain.
