No gulf in presidency, prayers for it won’t reach God- Malawi VP
Vice President Saulos Chilima on Saturday hinted that there were some people who are praying a clash of President Professor Peter Mutharika and him, but said they won’t succeed.
Speaking on Saturday at Saint Patrick’s Parish in Area 18 in Lilongwe during a “thanks giving” mass said some people did not like seeing good things.
“Some people are allergic to seeing good things. They only want evil things to happen to others. I know some people are praying and waiting for the president and me to quarrel, but I have news for you.
“Evil prayers do not reach God and you will be praying for a long time, but your wish will never come to pass,” Chilima said.
He told the congregation that the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) was walking their campaign talk and would deliver on the promises they made.
“Some people have been misleading our leaders for a long time. They hero worship them to get something from them. Leaders need to be respected and not worshipped. God is the only one to be worshiped,” Chilima said.
The remarks by Chilima follows callous propaganda in some news outlets claiming he had proposed the name of lawyer Ralph Kasambara to be Attorney General by President Mutharika rejected it.
Government insiders say Kasambara is not being considered for the position as his name failed the vetting process.
