Nomads boss attacked by thugs, hospitalised

Mighty Wanderers chairman George Chamangwana has been hospitalized at Beit Cure International Hospital in Blantyre after being attacked by unknown thugs on Tuesday night.

Wanderers secretary general David Kanyenda confirmed.

One of the friends to Chamangwana,  Steven Madeira told Nyasa Times that Nomads chairman went to a pub in Michiru to watch a Premier League game involving Manchester United and Cardif City.

“After the game it’s when he met his fate when some thugs hacked him with a panga knife on his head and left arm,”said Madeira.

He said after the incidence he was referred to Seventh Day Adventist Hospital where he was taken to the theatre straight.

“After being scanned they found out that he was severely hacked on his left arm where there was a fracture,” he said.

Madeira said from Seventh Day Adventist Hospital, Chamangwana was transferred to  Beit Cure Hospital where he is receiving treatment.
