Nomads skipper calls for fans not to lose hope

Mighty Wanderers captain Francis ‘FM 7’ Mlimbika has urged the club’s fans not to lose hope with the recent poor showing, promising to find their winning rhythm.

The Nomads now anchor the TNM Super League table with a single point from eight games and there are fears that the team could be relegated to the second-tier Southern Region Football League (SRFL) if they continue posting loses.

Next fixture for the Nomads is on Saturday against Chikwawa United at the Balaka Stadium.

Since ropping in former Civo United coach Thom Mkorongo, Chikwawa United have improved having drawn 1-1 with Big Bullets before beating Red Lions 2-1.

However, the Nomads captain told Nyasa Times that they are geared to get to winning ways.

“We cannot afford to slip-up on Saturday after losing four consecutive games. We are aware that it will be a tough encounter since Chikwawa drew with Bullets before beating Red Lions,” said Mlimbika.

Mlimbika, however urged the Nomads fans to drum more support to the team because they will deliver to their best.

“Our fans should cheer us to a win,” he said

In other tricky fixtures on Saturday, Silver Stadium will be the centre of attention as the Bankers hosts Big Bullets, while in Chitowe Stadium Mafco FC takes on Azam Tigers.

In Mzuzu, new rookies Karonga United will face Blue Eagles.

The battale of points resurfaces on Sunday with Moyale Barracks facing Blue Eagles, while Epac FC have a daunting task against Big Bullets at Silver Stadium.

Airborne Rangers will play Azam Tigers at Chitowe Stadium, as Blantyre United have a home ground advantage against Chikwawa United at Kamuzu Stadium.
