Ntata hits back at Mutharika: ‘Stop being a puppet, take charge’

Your Excellency, What destination should those steering Malawi keep their eyes fixed upon and by what course should they guide her there? The answer is simple enough: Economic prosperity with peace and security. Those who wish for this are Malawi’s best citizens, those who make it happen are her best leaders and are considered the saviors of this country.

Ntata

Ntata

This means, you’re Excellency, that as you govern the country, you should not be so carried away by your political power that you turn away from making the difficult decisions that will enhance economic prosperity.

I am concerned, sir, that you seem to be more concerned about scoring cheap political points than you are about leading the country to economic success. Of late, I have followed you as you have been going around the country conducting political rallies that will contribute absolutely nothing to the country’s economic progress. Did you think of this all on your own, or did your controllers tell you that this was a very important thing for a president to do?

Your Excellency, as the guardian of the fate of the country, I am uneasy as I observe that you are failing to appreciate the enormity of your position and its responsibilities. The presidency is a responsibility that requires great courage, great ability, and great resolve. Among the crowds and especially among your counselors are those who would destroy the country through corruption and self-interest.

They will give you advice that is more political than economical either because they feel guilty about their own misdeeds or fear punishment, or because they are deranged enough to hunger for power just for power’s sake, and because of their own moral bankruptcy, they prefer to bring the whole country down in flames rather than burn alone. As I see such people using you as a puppet to help them carry out their wicked plans, I worry that in the process the country is tossed about on the waves.

Your Excellency, it is sad that as president, the helmsmen who should guide the country, you seem not to have the vigilance, the skills and the diligence to discern these selfish and unpatriotic interests in order to bring them to heel and steer the Malawian ship to economic progress.

I know that you are quite aware, sir, that some of your closest advisors are shamelessly looting the treasury, accepting bribes and abusing their positions to force decisions in government harmful to the country. Surely you know as well as I do that your closest aides are openly committing every kind of thievery and plunder without the slightest concern about morality or being caught.

It is because you know this and you do nothing, your Excellency, that I will continue to do my duty to the Malawian people. I want everyone to know that if you do not live up to the country’s high expectations and fail to convict these looters and abusers of office, I will continue my work and expose anyone who might have offered bribes whether to you or to your advisors, as well as anyone among you in government who might have brought guilt upon himself by accepting to be used in these despicable acts.

So let me say to those who would dare to play their cunning tricks and interfere with my pursuit of justice and my fight against your governance failures and corruption scandals, beware, for they must be prepared to deal with me when I expose them to the Malawian people. I hope they will see that I have been vehement, persevering, and vigilant as a fighter of corruption, and that it will take a lot more than simple lawsuits and court cases to discourage me. Let them know that I will be just as adamant and relentless a good governance activist as I have always been.

The only way to silence me, your Excellency, is to stop being a puppet, take charge, and countermand those that are hurting the country’s journey to economic prosperity.

it is interesting how the mighty have fallen so Ntata has reduced himself to a Nyasatimes and facebook critic of Mutharika hahahahahah, now that he is no longer in the corridors of power he thinks he is become wiser? but tell u what the guy is loosing it all. we all know that there is no truth in Ntata’s claims as he is only seeking a personal vendatta on APM. If he has a case NTATA who was once a n influential presidential advisor and legal expert should know better where such cases are reported not the facebook

Allan waponda mwala. You think he is just a barking dog?

  14. phondogoma says:

Alla is a fool and a useless ignorant. It appears you dont follow what APM is doing in Malawi. You dont know how Muthalika is implementing his national ideas.the main idea in your article is that Muthalika must not be a puppet.

I am arfraid if indeed you really understand the policy of muthalika are. By ussing my simple Oxford Dictionary the term puppet refer to a person not capable of his own idea unless Allan has used a different dictionary. If you have used the same dictionary then I am of contrary opinion that the word puppet does not fit APM. APM is actively coming up with his own ideas. And if there is somebody who does not fear implementing national ideas, APM is the best.

There are so many new ideas that APM has implemented which are just like sweetened poison or a bitter panadol. Yes his ideas are starting like panadol or sweetened posin because every idea is a bit bitter but with the sweet at the end. We are talking os selling of MSB, introduction of Road Traffic electronic systems just to mention but a few.

In all sensenses Mathanyula is the president that uses his own ideas to the extent that malawians fear that , that approach may not be in tandem with democracy. So I am surprised with your parrotism, eloquence, murmering, gossip, rumour mongering even the use of the word puppet. Your cognive level is very myopic.Even the IQ displayed in your touch do not marry that of a graduate barrister. Did you get it through week end classes or correspondence or night college. You are lacking logic and consistency in your reports. At times you go forward then backward or even static on the same point like a kindergarten graduate.

  15. kudakwashe Gondwe says:

it started with Chimunthu banda and some senior dpp officials, they though Peter was some stupid professor, he outsmarted them to become presidential candidate. then along came Joyce banda she never got intimidated with Peter’s political stature she understimated thinking the Prof is some sleepy guy until she woke one morning to find her crown is gone. Ntata you can continue to understimate Prof Arthur Peter Mutharika at your own peril.

  16. apostle ndovie says:

  23. Richard Banda says:

Ntata is clever he is hiding behind the skin of malawians to put across his hatred towards mutharika family. He messed up big time with bingu and he wants to do the same to apm. Slwallow your pride allan and accept that APm is in charge mpaka 2024.

  25. Mkwapu Nyirenda says:

    APM BOMAAAA

  26. Mapenzi Chanda Banda says:

The problem with Ntata is that he hides his frustration and emptiness in colourful prose, that’s all. When you read between the lines you will understand that he has no tangible content in his articles. My advice to our government is, let us not give him attention he will be ashamed and get tired. People like Ntata are time wasters to say the least

  32. chikwemba says:

Akuti i will continue doing my duty for the malawian peopla. Ha ha ha ha which malawian people you fool. Malawians elected peter mutharika as president and not allan ntata. Sunati umva pheni.

  33. Dodolido says:

I personally use to hate Ntata, but the direction the country is heading is lost. There some sense in this guys babbling.

Let the guy speak for malawians.

  34. Mabulabo says:

Allan ntata is so stupid. He wanted to be controlling APM the way he used to do with bingu. That will never happen. Should we say you have interest of malawi at heart? The answer is big no.. President Mutharika will never negotiate with you allan. You are just wasting his time.

  35. Mwana wakwithu says:

Point is ntata is a career failure. Only a fool can take him very serious. He is very frustrated. Koma dont worry your days are numbered allan. You wont finish what you started.

  36. phillip says:

Very sory mr president, God warn u by using mr Mtata, my be it is the last warning u will face the kiama like you elder brother.

watch ought mr president pipo are sufering because

selfishness of u and your foolish gorvenment top officias.

  37. Dr Mbewe says:

Ntata has written sense. Otherwise with Peter the thief this country is going to the drain.

I would agree with previous writers peter is no professorial material. The guy is just hopeless.

  38. nkasimunguya chinankasanganye says:

He has spoken and I trust you have heard him well, yea offcourse he can twist the pen to make some body angry but thats for the betterment of both you mr president and me and the rest Malawians.
My simple petition: DONT KILL HIM.

  39. chinyophiro banda says:

there is not even a drop of substance i get from Ntatas burblings. All i see are rumblings of a beggar who is based abroad and is busy throwing stones to his home land. If having a degree in law means this i better study plumbing ndizikaona manyi kkk

  40. kadamanja says:

Pala Joseph Pitala wandapulike ivi wayowoya Ntata mwe tchi puppet nadi. Well done Ntata!

  41. Kondwani Bowazi says:

This Dude got some balls. Watch your back. Those fools can make u disappear and have your Mama crying. Be smart.

  42. moya says:

As a nation we don’t care wether Ntata has personal vandetta with the president or not but his cause its benefitial to the nation. Should we care wether chakufwa chihana or muluzi had a personal vandetta with Kamuzu banda or we simply celebrate that they brought democracy and sanity in our country politics? So let’s simply support Mtata if we feel is the brace to speak directly on behalf of many suffering and unhappy Malawians with the current economic and political situatipn prevailing in the country.

  43. Ntatatatata.... says:

Big puppet indeed. Why does the bwampini concentrate on genious ntata. Amutatu bwampini ameneyu. Mbava bwampini.

  44. casmany says:

Well done mr Ntata, this president is a totally rubbish.how can a drunker expect to run a country well?

  45. A Jose nanu mwanama ngati mukuti there z a thin line between braverly and stupidity, mind you then you don’t know the meaning of the two I will help you with the later which z stupidity by Ntatas respond from the president, which actually means knowing the truth, seeing the truth but stil believing in lies, that’s what you want Ntata to be doing ? Big No, then He’s not stupid coz he don’t believe in lies after seeing the truth, Jose wamva.

  46. Two Joker says:

    Koma Ntata akungoponya ma joker😀

  47. Alfred Minjo says:

This guy ran away while Bingu was in Casket, zamanyazi. He had high expectations from APM after getting BOMA, BUT eeeeeeh! This is a disgrantled and frustrated DUDE.

  48. ohooo! says:

ntata is stupid trying to earn a name
    wake up Malawi….. ..!
I cant believe that you are buying this stupid/pathetic ntata’s nonsense
    wake up Malawi

  49. zaya ku nkhongo says:

    Well written Mr Ntata

  50. Mr Ntata you are doing agood job for being the voice of the voiceless, many countries have failed because good men like you Mr Ntata said nothing or do nothing when leaders were doing wrong. This dpp president is a fluke this time around,he has no vision for this country, if we don’t all perish under his reign,it will be a big miracle for the villagers like me. One would think that he has spend half of his life in the mother of all development and democracies USA and that he would know better. But nope he is partying and his cadres talking crap, whilst government coffers are running dry, soon there will be nothing to steal and Malawi will become bankrupt. Tough times a head if Peter doesn’t jack up now.

  51. Mbite Khonyeriwa says:

I love the president. I used to dislike Ntata’s sentiments but now I feel that he has senses. The nation is suffering in one way or the other but our president chooses to remain very quiet. Water problems for example, it used to take the whole late Kamuzu Banda, Bakili Muluzi, late Bingu, etc., to shake the water boards in Malawi. Their commands today, tomorrow water. The state house of today is speechless, failing to push pressing issues for the speechless Malawians. Should we start begging the opposition to bale us out, Mr. President???

  52. BigMan says:

Mtata is an empty tin, there’s nothing in what he has scribbled here. Actually its rather frightening to note that there are some who find substance in the redundant stuff that he has put together on Nyasatimes. Anybody can call anybody else a puppet, its meaningless.

There is a reason why you are begging for alms in the UK Mtata, your actions led you to run away and your actions now once again will keep you in self imposed exile just like your financier abiti mtila.

If you have balls, come back home and spew the nonsense here.

  53. Mtunda says:

Much as I appreciate the freedom of expression to all, respect is equally a responsibility along the freedoms we have. However, find it absurd for ntata to label the president,’ a puppet’. What do u lose mr ntata if u contribute or advise the president in a language that is gentle n mannered? the swearing words used show that u’ve a grudge/hatred against the president n to agree with one contributor, u’re indeed childish! Malawians, let’s respect our leaders at all cost. Please!

  54. kwalewera Zinyemba says:

I would like to suggest to supporters of our leaders whether in government to watch your language as you criticize those who see things differently. One day when the things being talked about become a reality you will be a shamed. Let us join hands in finding solutions to the many problems affecting the country. Have you noted that during Dr Jice Bandas era electricity was stable but now blackouts are the order of the day just to mention one problem.Let those critizised defend themselves coz they need to be accountable to those who elected them.

  55. Mr Allan Ntata, I take my heart off for you, you are a big man!

  56. Steve Kamkwalala says:

I don’t know why people are clapping hands for Ntata. He is doing nothing other than throwing tantrums like a boy at puberty. Don’t just talk in general terms. Back your allegations with facts. It is that simple. If APM’s close associates are corrupt, mention their names, what acts of corruption have they done and present your evidence to the ACB. We will all respect you that you are really patriotic.

  57. Zondiwe says:

I know Allan Ntata personally and am no fan of his.
However, what he writes makes a lot of sense. Unfortunately the President has chosen arrogance to fight common sense issues that he is refusing to address.
Ntata has brought specific shortcomings, and the President has failed to counter-attack and correct the ills in his government.
If Mutharika does not reform, he is leading downstream politically. Look at his attack on the Researcher Dr Dulani. If I were President Mutharika, I would invite Ntata, Dulani, Kanyongolo, Hussein, some MPs and other interested people and have a discussion. I am sure good would come out of such an exchange of ideas.
What will the President do if he loses the court case that he has initiated? Will he resign his Presidency?
There is a proverb that says: ‘Those who live in glass houses should not throw stones’. It appears our very educated President is living in a glass house and he should be the last person to throw stones.

  58. Life says:

Ntata, you are the MAN, I pray God continues to guide you, give you more courage to tell the Pharaoh the truth.
This headless president would have rectified all the economic problems we facing now by simply:
    1. Deal with cashgate head-on. This is a simple, properly researched and documented issue that would need a good two days of quality court time to prosecute all the current known cases. Get back the resources and send those people to jail for them to be an example and deter future devils from abusing our resources.
    2. Transparently dealing with cashgate and follow it up with a candid plan of development sold to donors, would bring them back to support the country. Only a foolish human animal can believe that this poorest nation on earth can manage its own budget, unless one is on a special concoction of mandrax, chamba and chingambwe – am afraid this is what Goodall and APM are on
    3. Revisit ways of government, from politically-oriented to more developmental focus. Recruit people on merit, use the best brains around to come up with development strategies. Stop politicking…how on earth do we still have mouth stinking, nyau-looking people like Kaliyati as minister. Whats so special with this woman that politicians keep bringing her in. I know, she probably provides the best in bed for you guys and deserve the reward. But at whose expense? We have brilliant minds in this country that could develop the country. Don’t choose ministers etc on political lines. Actually, all ministers could be non-MPs.
    4. Seek pro-production developmental endevours from donors that would create jobs for the masses. Institute projects in rural areas that are good enough to attract our vendors away from cities. I mean why not start massive irrigation projects along Shire and lake Malawi that would produce all kinds of crops that could be used by industries producing them into finished goods?

Finally, Allan Ntata, I wish you all the best, pray God guides you more and when time comes, tell this nation the whole truth, I know you know more….

  59. Tili Chenene says:

Ntata is speaking nothing apart from nothing. The guy has never impressed me before. For example, the above posting. Is there any take home sense? Objectively, NO.

  60. Advice says:

    Ntata

Publish documentary evidence (if it exist) to back up what you are writting about.

Otherwise, it will give credit to the notion that you are a disgruntled, confused chap

  65. namatikitiki says:

Ntata, there is a very thin line between bravery and stupidity.

  67. Iwe so called PHODO which schools did you attend.Your English grammar leaves much to be desired. You go on attacking a learned person like Allan Ntata with that kind of broken English language;shame on you useless party cadre! Check your english grammar if truly you are educated adequately. So when you write pidgin english, you think you are learned-galu iwe waci-wewe.Keep on barking!

I WAS TOGETHER WITH HIM AT CHANCO AND HE MANAGED TO CHEAT DURING EXAMS WITHOUT BEING CAUGHT. THATS HOW HE GOT HIS DEGREE.WHAT DO YOU EXPECT FROM SUCH A CHARACTER,A CHAMBA MAN,A NOTORIOUS LAWYER.EVEN HIS OWN BROTHER AT MATEME SDA,NEVER SAYS ANYTHING GOOD ABOUT HIM.WE ARE BEHIND YOU, APM

  69. Bongolo says:

A phodo mwadya ma bans ambitious a APM eti? Malawi needs people like Allan Ntata to drum some sense in corrupt leaders like Mathanyaula. Stop following leaders blindly. Let APM concentrate on fixing the economy, improve in fracture, clean water to every citizen, etc and that is what everyone wants to see the president doing and not waste time with lawsuits, no! How many lawsuits is he going to make 2019? By going to court he knows for sure Ntata is talking some sense which he wants to make sure he is silenced.

  70. Gift says:

I hv bin followin the “beef”btween Mr Ntata and DPP lately..i nevr commented on any bt nw i thnk i have 2 comment..after i read so many bad stories about dpp frm mr ntata especialy on the personal attacks towards the president,i wasnt surprised reading dat the president is suing him for character assassination on grounds dat he is accusing the president on coruption cases dat took place during the past bingu era..i thnk mr ntata has 2 b reminded dat evrybdy is inocent until proven guity..and why ddnt he whistle brow the matter of the coruption during dat tym it came to his noticing..or is it bcoz he too was benefiting frm the corruption as he was the presidential advisor by then?guys lets oppose nt jst 4 personal gains bt 4 benefit of the whole citizens..i lyk kabwila, bcoz her chalengin remarks r for the benefit of us all unlike mr ntata who seams lyk hv a personal vandetta..and u guys of nyasa tym plz publish REAL apealin stories nt jst any rubish jst bcoz ts talking bad about the president..come on,we nid ril stories nt jst any trush

  71. Man says:

You know what, ukakhala mbuli paguilu its better to keep quite , in that way you learn alot, rather than make unnecessary noise, you just expose your ignorance to others! shame on you1

  72. Ntata you have said it all. Those that have ears let them hear.In my view Hon Ntata you do not hate the President, but love him so much. You have demostrated that you a true partriot of Malawi. When a lion is surrounded by wolves in sheep’s skin; and thinks they are fellow lions,it needs to be cautioned in no uncertain terms. Therefore President Mutharika should take heed of Ntata’s timely advice.

  73. Bob says:

Kunena mwatchutchu. These are sensible advices given by someone watching from a distance. Ndiye wina amupange president to go back to court to add on the previous lawsuit ati further defamation.

  74. Palikanthu says:

We as citizens of Malawi are taxed eavily and yetthe political leadership is so laxed in accounting for the taxes and redirecting the money to social services in an equitable transparent manner. So we look forward to the president to ensure that all money entrusted to government is put to good use and if not those abusing the money should face justice.
but right now there is no justice hence we welcome write ups like these in support for justice for all.

  75. The real ujeni says:

    Ntata, keep the fire burning!!!!!!

  76. phodo says:

    Letter to Allan Ntata

I have perused your documentary with interest. I have discovered that you are very childish. Your IQ is just very low. Your commentary is just like that of baby sitter. There is no reason of maturity in the whole passage. What are talking about? No substance in it. Are you really a professional barrister or you are the barrister of Nigerian film, Aki na Pop.

APM has gathered courage to meet you face to face. As it is court is the only forum which can act as boxing ring of you and him.The way things are here in Malawi concerning Ntata and Mathanyula in court, you could be writing this. You have written trash, shit. You just show that you are an empty tin that does nothing but lot of noise. Your noisy sooner or later will start boring all Malawians.

You could have scored a point if you would have come with a list of tangible and documented evidence supporting all the accusations that you are leveling against APM.Aollan you can not claim to expose somebody when you produce any documentary evidence against the accused. What you are doing is a total defamation by LIBEL? Libel is a written defametory remark against somebody out jealousy. That is character assassination. You are a dull lawyer. You are not a kind of the person to be supported. Stupid Allan. What did the president wrong you. He is a human being and feels pain by your acts. He jas the right to sue or be sued, to possess property, to be employed.

  77. Souja says:

Ntata ni mwanalume nadi, mpaka the whole commander in chief ”puppet”

  78. Palikanthu says:

  79. enidziko says:

    It’s squeaky-bum time!
It can’t get simpler and plain than this write up. Infact it’s more than it, this is serious business from serious intelligentsia.
You think because you’re at the helm of power then you can be throwing empty tantrums of court lawsuits, mafia like killing people, na, the world is watching. I know more idiots will be critical of Commando Ntata for his bravery calling him all sorts of names, but you know what who doesn’t know he’s been a pain to these undesirables sinking our beloved malawi soo much soo low week in week out. This is no politics but rather deeper truth…. Eish fellow malawians who has bewitched you? You can’t even smell an incense here and for the sake of your marginalised politics practised basi aliyense should be patronising your mediocre bandwagons. Ooh my foot!

  80. Observer says:

Please Mr President: Don’t worst your time suing individuals who oppose you Sir. It’s like a teacher who fights against his/her students. it will be difficult to control the rest. Instead focus on fixing our economy. Silence critics just like your Brother who extremely did well in his first. infrastructure development was every where! e.g. Road Construction.

  81. I am a DPP fanatic but I warmly give credit to NTATA. If we, Malawians, had strong and courageous people like him, our presidents would not take us for granted. BRAVO NTATA. KEEP UP THE FIGHT.
