Nyalonje wants to succeed Goodall in Mzimba North: African Church wants a selfless servant to serve constituency

The African Church in Mzimba north has said it wants a servant who is ready to serve people Godly than enriching himself or herself if the gospel is to be effectively spread.

Preacher Newton Chataika Mkandawire said some leaders who pledged to serve the constituency  well in the past ended up dispersing the sheep after failing to live up to their expectations, leading to the church no longer have trust in them because they lacked good governance skills.

Preacher Mkandawire said this is why they do not want a repeat of the history and suffer more at such bad governance.

Mkandawire, who is also chairperson for the men’s guild, made the statements Sunday when the church welcomed Agnes NyaLonje who intends to contest in the constituency as Member of Parliament in the forth coming 2014 tripartite elections.

The people in the constituency  are expected to choose the president, Member of Parliament and councilor.

The preaching was derived from Mathews 25 vs 25, Jacob 2 vs 14 and proverbs 22 whose scriptures talk about the good servant.

Said Mkandawire:  “We have had leaders before but they dumped the sheep and the church rendering gospel, roads, schools, health centers in bad shape and we want you to address these once you become Member of Parliament for this constituency.

On his part, presiding pastor Goli Nkhambule who is an overseer for Engucwini congregation prayed for Nyalonje to succeed in her endeavors as she tries to transform Mzimba north.

He however appealed to Nyalonje to help in rehabilitating the church by providing it with iron sheets, cement among others.

NyaLonje has a big task to excel because she needs to beat the incumbent Dr. Goodall  Gondwe, hard nut Jata Bannet Nyirenda, John Daud Mhone,Agnes Nhlema, Foja Mheni Mbunge and Maji Msingo Zgambo.

These contestants are within the areas of Vongo,Luzi,Enukweni,Luhomero,Jombo,Katula,Kasito,Kacheche,Elunyeni,Madise.
