Nyasa Bullets win Sapota Mapeto K1.5m bonus

The 2015 TNM Super League champions Nyasa Big Bullets have finally pocketed the K1.5 million TNM dangled in Sapota Mapeto Promotion after managing to surpass the 300,000 SMS hits to earn the once off bonus.

TNM dangled the bonus for all 15 teams at the beginning of the 2015 TNM Super League season.

The promotion started in June 2015 and ended on December 31 with Bullets dominating and generating more revenue above all other teams.

The People’s Team have pocketed the bonus after sending 320,115 SMSs.

Besides, two Bullets FC fans–George Manjolo and Linje Kamwendo– also won 40 inch Samsung TVs for sending most SMSs above everybody else. Manjolo send 1950 SMSs while Kamwendo sent 1852 SMSs.

TNM Marketing Manager Madalitso Jonazi described the 2015 Sapota Mapeto Season as a success and that there is an increase in number of SMSs hits and total revenue.

A total of K20 million has been raised in 2015 against K16.3 million in 2014.

The biggest recipient, Bullets FC raised K12,704,025 against K9.3 million in 2014.

According to statistics provided on Wednesday during the sixth and last draw of the promotion, Be Forward Wanderers have accumulatively pocketed K5,595,905 million from 159,883 SMs; Silver Strikers K1,021,839 from 29,195 SMSs; Airborne Rangers K48,650 from 1,390 SMSs; Civo K67,130 from 1,918 SMS hits; Dedza Young Soccer K111,230 from 3,178 SMSs; Blue Eagles K25,340 from 724 SMSs; Epac FC K21,175 from 605 SMSs; Kamuzu Barracks K29,960 from 856 SMSs; Red Lions K15,190 from 434 SMSs;  Mafco K21,735 from 621 SMSs; Moyale K90,685 from 2,591 SMSs; Mzuni K42,350 from 1,210 SMSs; Tigers K26,110 from 746 SMSs and FISD Wizards K25,270 from 722 SMS hits.

Jonazi also said among other success of this year’s promotion were the supporter’s engagement meeting where TNM interacted with various supporter’s clubs to broaden their understanding of the promotion.

He also congratulated two Bullets FC fans who sent the most SMSs, observing their actions demonstrate great passion which they have towards the game of football and their club, Big Bullets.

“As TNM, we are happy that fans largely participated in the promotion to help generate revenue for their teams. Fans should expect more exciting activities next season and our aim is to advance the game of football in the country,” said Jonazi.

Bullets FC Vice Treasurer Alex Gondwe hailed their supporters for participating in the promotion and disclosed that the money will help in running some operations of the team.
