Of JB and knowing names
President Joyce Banda is at it again! She knows the names of people who are planning to instigate violence soon after the announcement of the May 20 elections and these people are from DPP.
This is not new to some of us. She always says she has the names of perpetrators of crimes. Remember how she went to town in September last year when former Budget Director Paul Mphwiyo was shot at the gate of his sprawling mansion in Area 43 in Lilongwe? She told the nation that she knew the people who had shot Mphwiyo and that she had the names!
Off she went to the USA and when she came back, she was hit by loss of memory and suddenly, she did not know the names of the people who shot Mphwiyo.
“I do not know who shot Mphwiyo,” she told journalists at a press briefing at Sanjika Palace in Blantyre on the day she arrived from USA.
Recently she was at it again, knowing names of DPP people who are planning post election violence. She emphatically said she had the names! Now now now! Which names?
We are hoping she would not be making another foreign trip soon for her to forget the names she has now.
Everyone knows that if there will be any violence, then it will be perpetrated by PP because they will not accept any results other than PP winning.
If MCP, UDF, DPP or indeed James Nyondo’s National Salvation Front carries the day on May 20, no one will go to the streets. It is only if PP wins that there will be running battles because everyone is talking about how PP wants to rig the elections and PP has been silent on these allegations.
So President Joyce Banda is doing what she knows best, pushing the blame on other people! She claims she has the names but the truth is she is aware that if PP is declared winner of the elections, there will be violence and she needs to blame someone and that is DPP.
People would have taken President Banda seriously if she mentioned the people who said she knew shot Mphwiyo.
President Banda has names of DPP perpetrators of postelection violence? Trust me, no one is planning on violence and she has no names because there are no names and there will be no violence!
