I am troubled by this column because people seem to respect the author more than they digest the subject matter at hand. Lucius Banda can be indeed be appreciated as a renowned musician but not human right champion. He sang bad songs about MCP (True). Some few about UDF but became its die-hard only because of self enrichment. Look here, UDF plundered Malawi big time and the Corrupt Kingpin – Mudyomba Eleson aka Six Pounds. Amwenye became too rich during UDF and are now enslaving us giving them privatised entities such as Chipiku (Pramod Kalaria and Friends), Mizikiti kumanga along… Read more »

The article has ended abruptly. Lucious became a bit biased when the UDF government came into power. Check his music always defending Muluzi. This is where his songs became a little bit diluted. He also kind of messed it when he sided with a chair when Bingu fell apart with Muluzi. He song songs in praise of UDF when most of the population hated the party. But true indeed; it seems Lucius has fought more battles with different regimes. Just like Kamulepo Kalua. PEOPLE ARE APPRECIATED WHEN THEY DIE BECAUSE THEY’D LIVED A FULL CYCLE OF THEIR LIVES. THE NBEST EXAMPLE WHO’S WORKS DURING HIS FIRST 5 YEARS IN POWER WERE PERCEIVED TO BE THE WOODWORK OF HIS HEART, DO WE NEED TO BE REMINDED HOW HE PERFORMED THEREAFTER, ANOTHER ONE IS KAMUZUAND THEN OH, THE LIST GOES ON AND ON.

True. Soldier Lucius Banda is a real man. He is humble and courageous. He is not a kind of a person who can be tossed to and fro by any wind like these other stupid politicians. Malawi could have been somewhere if we had at least 50 MPs of Lucius Banda’s caliber. Unfortunately Malawi is full of opportunists as MPs and politicians. Wishing Lucious Banda all the best.
