Pastor Ashimolowo jets in Malawi to pray for leadership

United Kingdom based Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo – founder of Kingsway International Christian Center (KICC) – is in the country for a three day evangelical visit.

Pastor Ashimolowo will conduct prayer sermons at Bingu International Conference Center which will be centered on the leadership challenge.

Speaking soon after touching down at the Kamuzu International Airport in the capital Lilongwe on Thursday, the preacher emphasized that many African countries problems are due to bad leadership.

“The problem in Africa is that we put in power presidents who lack capacity, everyone thinks he is a leader, Bin Laden could think of himself as a leader so was [Muamar] Gadaf but we don’t need leaders like that.

“We need leaders who are Godly and of moral values to develop our societies,” he said.

Pastor Ashimolowo said he was bringing a message of hope to the people of Malawi irrespective of the challenges that the country had gone through.

“I am bringing a message of hope and healing to the Malawians. I am confident that Malawi has a great future and that there will be a turn around,” he said.

The charismatic pastor who is followed by many Malawians through his televangelism, said during his crusade there will be “tremendous testimonies”.

“Malawians should be ready for a turn around,” he said.

Ashimolowe also said its high time young citizens have to look at their countries for development rather than
abroad.

“The problem with young Africans is that they believe that economic answers will come from abroad and with the people of different skin colour but I say that they are wrong, the answers come from God and in their respective societies.

“I have a great passion for the young Africans, they need to stand up and say we can do it,” said the pastor.

Pastor Ashimolowo who has been ministering for over 28 years was born in Nigeria in 1952 to Muslim parents.

He converted to Christianity at the age of 22 after the death of his father  before enrolling for Bible School.

The pastor  has authored more than 30 books and his programmes feature on several international television stations.
