Pastor Salanje on Lake Malawi dispute: Spare lives, lets share with Tanzania

I know that what am about to say it will make some people angry, but the truth must be told.

After checking the map of these three countries , Malawi, Tanzania and Mozambique who shares the waters of the lake called lake Malawi, I have come to understand that, we Malawians we must be wise enough to know what went wrong and accept the lose than keep on pushing for what is not true.

If you can check properly you will see that Lake Malawi waters are also touching the Land of Tanzania and Mozambique. And currently we are already sharing Lake Malawi with Mozambique, so why we can’t do the same with Tanzania? Am sure it wrong for we Malawians to go to Tanzanian’s Lake Malawi sea shore and fish there or run our Ships there. It’s like putting a garden just next to somebody’s house.

Am sure you can’t share border, Land and sea, borders are shared Land to Land or Sea to Sea. So let’s wake up and do the right thing. After all we are not going to lose anything, we will remain we our side of the lake.

For example, let’s go to Persians gulf, its waters are shared by almost six countries, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and Oman. I don’t think one country there can claim to own it alone. Same as red sea, Medditerraan Sea, waters there are shared by many countries. So let’s put our problems aside and do the right thing.

The fast we wake up the fast we are going to do the right thing and save the west of our resources for nothing, and also the shed of innocent blood.

May god bless Malawi, Tanzania and Mozambique.
