Piksy reveals second album plans: Malawi top Afro-rap singer
Malawi’s renowned Afro-Rap musician, Piksy, has disclosed he is in the studios working on his latest yet-to-be-be titled album to be released next year.
The Blantyre-based ‘Uncle Short One’ singer, aka Langwan, revealed this in an interview with Nyasa Times on Wednesday.
He said he is currently finalising the 2014 album’s first single, titled ‘Around’ which may hit the airwaves next Monday.
“It’s a song that talks about taking my girl around Africa,” said Piksy, while indicating the new track is being produced by renowned Malawian producer Tapps Bandawe.
“The unique thing about this song is I’m mentioning cities, hotels, lakes and other beautiful places in countries like Nigeria, Kenya, Zambia and the Warm Heart of Africa Malawi,” he added.
According to Piksy, the new album, second to his credit, will be out “possibly in May”.
Piksy released his first album ‘Maso’ in 2012, under Nde’feyo Entertainment, a label which he left few months ago.
Now not signed to any music stable, the artist is Airtel Malawi’s brand ambassador.
