Police arrest two murder suspects, two at large
Police at Nselema in Machinga have arrested two men suspected of murdering a man in his 30s at Polomosa Village, Traditional Authority Chikweo in the district as two other men connected to the murder are at large.
Police Public Relations Officer for Machinga, Constable Andrew Mayao confirmed the arrest of Peter Wisdom, 26 and Yoswa Bvumbwe, 32 both of Nampeya Village, Traditional Authority Chikweo.
Mayao said Wisdom and Bvumbwe are suspected to murder the man who is not yet identified on July 25.
The man sustained a deep cut in the head and died on the scene of the incident as it is believed that he was fighting with Kamuzu Chinchere who is currently at large, according to Mayao.
The police further said Chinchere cried for help thereby prompting Bvumbwe, Wisdom and another man only identified as Evans to help Chinchere in the fatal fight.
Nampeya Community Policing Forum reported the case to Nselema Police which mounted investigations which lead to the arrest of the two Wisdom and Bvumbwe on August 4, added Mayao.
It is expected that the two will soon appear before court to answer murder charges per Section 209 of the Penal Code.
The Police are still investigating the whereabouts of the remaining two suspects.
Menawhile, noone has claimed the body of the murdered man at Machinga District Hospital mortuary, according to Police .
