  1. Obrien says:

I believe that the Cabinet is good in all fairness. The new manifesto for the government is development, and this means that this should start from the grassroots, which is the Local government. I have had a look at what constitutes the ministry of Local government, and I believe that you will agree with me that it is very big, and needs someone with known ability, to get it up to speed. This then means the former Minister of Finance, who performed well, is the right person to handle that.

I believe that the link below will give some of us an idea as to how big the Local government ministry is.

    http://www.malawi.gov.mw/LocalGovt/Home%20%20LocalGovt.htm

Let us not judge the ministers before they even start work.

  2. niglo says:

kodi imeneyo ndi cabinet kapena standard 2B,kabineti kukula choncho ndalama zake ziti osamangosankhila cabinet kuti musangalase anthu kumasankha anthu omwe angayikwanise ntchitoyo, anthu monga GONDWE mwawachoselanji, osatisankhila mbava mu cabinet mwayamba za a Muluzi, zimenezo tilanda nazo mavoti athu nkumupasa puluzu komaso puluzu ayi mwina NYONDO,my point is reduce the cabinet and replace Gondwe that s all we Malawians want.

  3. CHUMA CHA AZUNGU says:

Now I think its Bingu’s strategy to place Gondwe in Local Government ministry. The idea behind being that as we all know that the northern region has for a long time been underdeveloped and it is the same northern region that surprised the nation in terms of the massive support they gave Bingu in the just ended elections, it could be a token of appreciation to give this ministry to Gondwe so that he be the man responsible of ensuring that this region is developed. With Gondwe’s massive expertise Bingu believes that this man will develop the region as we know that he is well connected to donors and can approach the dononrs for funding the projects easily. So am sure that as much as we may think that its a demotion to Gondwe it may be not poti anthu andalewatu sometimes its difficult to read them. Apawo ndi mizu yakachere imakumana pansi ndiye awa akudziwana bobo.

  4. Hibernian Boy says:

The cabinet is too large. Half of these ministerial posts should sit outside of the cabinet. Current thinking suggests that around 15-30 is the number for effective decision making.

Disappointed to see Khumbo Kachali leave Health, he was doing a good job there. Surely Health is more important than Transport and Works.

IMHO Prof. Moses Chirambo will need to look at his civil servants in the health department and perhaps move one or two on if he wants to devlop health care. A modern service requires modern thinkers.

  5. kibbutz says:

Can someone tell me where Phoya, Mussa and Lipenga are? Thought these were the guys behind Bingu’s landslide victory? Zinakambu zina leku, Bingu’ approach to issues is very very unpredictable but looks good to me! Mdala amatenga ma political risks uyu! Hahaha! Tsono Water Development ikhala kuti? Natural Resources or irrigation?

  6. geza nyirongo says:

bingu, you play rough but fair.we need change.ayi pakuti adada wa gondwe ngwakwithu sono wakwelepo!every one got achance to get top jobs ,longola cv then he will pick it from there
