PP’s Kadali Mkandawire asks for Chibanja ward councillorship role

Robert Kadali Mkandawire has asked residents of Chibanja ward in Mzuzu to vote him as councilor in the May 20,2014 tripartite elections if development is to flourish in the area.

Mkandawire, the artist and a Peoples Party (PP) member said should he be voted into power, he will negotiate with the Mzuzu City Council to bring a health centre and community day Secondary School in the ward with the use of the Constituency development funding for people to access quality social services in areas of health and education.

He noted that people of Salisbury line, Mapeto, and Chibanja do not access quality health services at Mzuzu Health centre because they have to wait for too long there by endangering their lives due to congestion hence once made to be councilor; his priority will be enhancing dwindling health and education levels.

The 35- year-old aspirant noted that with the secondary school and health center brought closer to the residential places, high rate of accidents students and parents got involved in as they attempted to cross the Clock tower-Lusangazi road on their way to katoto Secondary, Mulinda private schools and Mzuzu Health center would be minimized.

Said Mkandawire:  “Should I be given a vote more developments including hygiene for Chibanja ward  will improve for the better.”

But Mkandawire, however, reminded his electorates to register quickly when Malawi Electoral Commission open its doors soon so that they are not locked outside and fail to achieve their goals.

Despite his call, Mkandawire who resides at Salisbury-Line will not have an easy ride because he has to jostle over the position against Charles Matimba Nyirongo including several others who are yet to express wish to be councilors.
