President Mutharika returns Sunday from USA

Malawi President Peter Mutharika is scheduled to return home this Sunday, from the United State of America where he went for  the first ever US-African Leaders’ Summit.

The Summit which was attended by over 30 African Heads of State and Government focused on the theme ‘Investing in the Next Generation” and how the leaders can together sustain Africa’s transformation.

Mutharika was in Washington along with more than 40 African heads of state to attend the three-day U.S.-Africa summit.

Mutharika will have a 10 hour stop over in London.

The statement from the Office of the President and Cabinet released on Friday says “the plane carrying the President is expected to land at Kamuzu International Airport (KIA) at around 11:00.”

The statement says President Mutharika will hold a news conference Tuesday on  the trip, at Kamuzu Palace from 2p.m.
