Prophet Bushiri releases rap song ‘Motivation’: Launches ‘Major 1gospel rap contest’ winner to walk away with car, MK3 million
South Africa-based Malawian prophet Shepherd Bushiri of Enlightened Christian Gathering (ECG) has dropped a gospel rap song as he prepares to launch ‘Major 1 Rap Contest’ in Malawi where the winner will walk away with a car plus MK3 million.
The song, titled ‘Motivation’ talks about his passion to preach the gospel and bring salvation to people. It also encourages the youth to be for Christ whilst they are still young and grow in the walk of God.
Commenting on the release, the Public Relations Officer of Prophet Bushiri, Kelvin Sulugwe, elucidated that Major 1, as a young person, desires to promote youths’ talent and make the word of God strong among them.
“The prophet loves talent. Challenge him with meaningful talent and you will not only capture his attention, but also provoke his interest. In demonstration of this passion, he is set to launch a gospel rap competition with an underlying hope that it will, in a way, promote the sinking of the gospel of Christ into the minds of the youth,” Sulugwe narrated to Nyasa Times.
“Being youthful himself, Major 1 has high propensity towards promoting the youths. He has a lot of youthful music artists that he is grooming and supporting. Coming up with his song ‘Motivation’ and the rap battle is another great initiative to reach out to young people and make their Christian life adventurous,” Sulugwe further said.
“The song Motivation is just there to motivate young rappers and inspire them to dream big. It’s not like he has started music or venturing the industry, he is just sending a message a of encourage to young people with talent.”
According to Sulugwe, the winner of the Rap Battle, which is scheduled to start soon, will walk away with a car and MK3 million cash. The winner of second position will walk away with MK2 million and MK1 million will be going to the third position.
According to the information made privy to this publication, auditions will start soon in all cities of Malawi and once that is done, finals will take place in Lilongwe where those successful at auditions will battle it out.
