‘Red carpet’ Malawi Achievers Awards UK tickets sale deadline Sunday

Ticket sales to the much hyped inaugural Malawi Achievers Awards (MAA) UK on March 29  at Leicester Marriot Hotel will be cut off on Sunday the organisers of the event have announced.

Malawi Achievers Awards project coordinator Felix Banda said  the deadline for ticket sale for entry is Sunday and encouraged all those who haven’t yet purchased their tickets but willing to attend the stupendous red carpet event dubbed ‘The Malawi Grammy’s’ to do so, to avoid last minute glitches because there will be no ticket sales on the door and nobody will strictly be allowed to gain entry without a ticket.

“We would like to inform esteemed Malawians, friends of Malawi, people in the UK  and all the people of diverse backgrounds willing to attend Malawi’s biggest and most decorated event in the UK to date for Malawians by Malawians, the Malawi Achievers Awards slated for next Saturday that the deadline to purchase entry tickets is this Sunday evening as we need to submit all event attendees’ names to the hotel by Monday morning,” said Banda.tickets

Banda said that all is now ready and set for the grand showcase to take off adding that everything is on the right lane for the history in the making event.

“The Malawi Achievers Awards is a landmark occasion and those that will attend the ceremony will be part of history. We promise a first-rate and superb experience for our delegates. There will be lots of a top class of entertainment and sumptuous food at the red carpet event and the venue is as magnificent as the event itself,” explained Banda.

Malawi Achievers Awards UK whose aim is to celebrate and recognise outstanding Malawian individuals and groups in the UK for their exceptional achievements and contributions to their respective communities both in the UK and in Malawi is a project of Malawi Association UK (MAUK) an umbrella body for all Malawians in the UK, will take place at Marriot Hotel, Smith Way, Grove Park, Endeby, Leicester, LE19 1SW, on March 29th 2014.

Banda explained that it is a family event that will accommodate children and will start at 6:00 pm prompt and will run through to 01:00 hours and thereafter there will be an after-party, adding that it will be a day to remember in a lifetime.

However, Banda said he would like to thank all people that have already bought their tickets and encouraged those who haven’t to do so adding that anybody without a ticket will not be entertained and must not even make an effort to travel to the hotel without a ticket hoping to squeeze themselves in because they will be embarrassed.

“I would like to emphasize that we have tight security and everything is very systematic. I urge all those that will for whatever reason fails to get hold of a ticket for the event to stay away or risk facing a big embarrassment of a lifetime if they will try to ‘gate-crush’ or gain entry by fraudulent means, no ticket no entry. It is as simple and straightforward as that,” warned Banda.

Banda underlined that everybody including the organisers, Malawi Association UK executive members attending the event must pay for themselves as a large chunk of the money is going to food.

“There are no exceptions. Everyone who will attend the event must have a ticket. They are paying for their own food and if they will gain entry for free who will pay for their three course meal that will be served during the event by the hotel?”

The last minute ticket sales according  to Banda can be purchased from the following people: Gertrude Chirambo in London, Martin Guga and Stepson Mbewe (Leicester) Gertrude Banda in (Essex) Charles Kachitsa (Manchester) Patricia Mlundira-Chirwa (Luton) Thom Twee (Leeds) and Peter Makossah (Nottingham and Derby)
