Relationship with God makes us believe

While it is God’s desire that His children be in good health, joy, wealth, liberty and prosper even as their souls does prosper, this has not been the case most of the time because God’s children are still struggling with powers of the darkness, depression, poverty, sicknesses, and bondages. This is a very sad state because these are things that were defeated when Our Lord Jesus Christ died on the Cross of Calvary.

I wonder how beautiful it would be, had it been that children of God knew the power that has been given to them because of what was accomplished at the Cross of Calvary, that most battles being fought now are already won battles. “My People are destroyed for lack of knowledge…” (Hosea 4:6).

Christians need to realize that as Children of God we have power to command, believe and declare things with our mouth as the bible tells us that “Death and life are in the power of the tongue…” (Proverbs18:21). This means that each one has that authority to command and declare things that we want in our life, children, and family. This power is already in us from the day we accepted Jesus Christ us our personal savior by faith.

We receive Him by faith; let’s also receive His promises with the same faith. See how little children believe the promises of their parents. They believe that they will be able to get what the parents have promised them, and nobody can convince them otherwise. We are earthly fathers yet we know how to give good gifts to our children, how much will our heavenly father be willing to bless us, if only we could just believe like these little children.

One important factor is the relationship that you have with God. See you are connected with your children, meaning you have a relationship with them. This is why they are able to believe in you, and know that you will provide their earthly needs. Our God also want this relationship with us, and this relationship is what will allow you to believe that He is the healer, provider, deliverer and everything you need. There are people who have known this principal and their lives have never been the same. Depend on Him the same way your children depend on you by having a relationship, and in the process God will help you to know Him even more.

When this relationship exists, it becomes very easy for you to believe that He leaves inside of you and your desires automatically change. You find that you don’t need to fight with bondages that you were trying to fight with your flesh, and when you pray things start happening. God takes over and you do not need anyone to lay hands on you every time you need something because you have that link yourself, therefore do not need a go between.

See how the old prophets knew their God and believed that His power was powerful to do whatever they called with their mouth. Elijah called for fire to fall from heaven and consume the army that was sent against him. “If I be a man of God, let fire come down from heaven and consume you and your fifty” (2 Kings 1:10-12). Elijah within himself had no power to do such a thing, but He knew one whom He believed in was able to do it. He could only pray to the one he believed in, our Heavenly father God Almighty, and in the Lord’s wisdom and perfect goodness, he was able to grant his request. In 1 Kings 17:1 Elijah told Ahab that; As the Lord God of Israel lives, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew or rain these years, but according to my word.

By reading this alone, I am convinced that Elijah had a very personal relationship with God Almighty and believed that He is the one who ordered, therefore had the power over all the elements of the earth. Such boldness can only come when one knows the capabilities of who they are talking about.

As Christians, let us first seek this relationship, and all things will be given unto us. He is a good God who wants to bless, heal, deliver, provide, protect and above all else be with us all the time. “Call unto me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things which you know not” (Jeremiah 33:3).
