Renowned coach advised Malawian female boxer to go for rematch
Renowned boxing coach Andson Kazembe has urged Malawian female boxer Agnes Mtimaukanena Mwando to go for rematch after losing to Zambian boxer Lolita Muzeya in the WBC welterweight title fight held in Zimbabwe on Friday.
Kazembe, who is based in South Africa and is also trainer to Malawi’s reputable lightweight boxer, Isaac Chilemba, said Mtimaukanena Mwando should work out on speed to defeat.
“It would have been a great fight had it been quicker, and crisp with the run punches. Do lots of quick handwork, do lots of sprints, lots of free-weight training, do internal training, do lots of sparring challenge her for the title again. You will shock her,” he said.
Kazembe said Mtimaukanena Mwando was a good boxer with great potential.
“”You have a very good boxing ability, good stance, good technique and good footwork,” he said.
Mtimaukanena Mwando said her plans was to overcome her in the first three rounds.
“Unfortunately they stopped it. I was told to be strong during early round because she was aiming for knockout and that I should be relaxed,” she said.

Good advise. She should move to SA for better training facilities. The promoter should have been the first to give such advise.

Akulu a Kazembe don’t fool this woman. Please accept that the Zambian lady boxer is miles and miles better than her. She was beaten clean by a strong boxer. I hear the Zambian boxer is as ruthless as the devil himself when it comes to throwing punches on opponents. If you insist for a rematch, whatever will happen to our dear Agness you will be responsible Mr. Kazembe. We don’t want our Agness to die young, she is a daughter, a mother and wife to someone else.
