You may have heard the song “Liyaya” on local radios nationwide but never really put a face to the actual track and finally the wait is over as the song is now out with visuals.

“Liyaya”, produced by renowned producer and artist Chuka Royalty, is taken from Miss Mak’s third studio EP and is has a timeless fusion of Afro beat and South African house rhythms.

The visuals that accompany the song were shot in various locations in Malawi when the UK-based recording artist was doing charity work in the country by Joy Williams of Media Koncept, which has also worked with the likes of Vibes Squad, Dola Bilz, Theo Thomson and D1.

“I wanted the video to represent Malawi. I did not want it to be glossy and unrealistic plus I have always wanted to cycle a Kabaza (bicycle),” explained Miss Mak on the video’s concept.

“Liyaya’ will always be my breakthrough track and due to high demand for the song to be released officially, I thought not having accompanying visuals would do the track a huge injustice.

“The song marks the new beginning for me [and] if you think this track is good, wait until you hear the rest of the project,” she remarked.

The award-winning artist, who won the Best Emerging Act in the Malawi Achievers Awards 2014 in the United Kingdom, is known for her sensual vocals, catchy Afro-Soul, R&B songs that represent the modern African empowered woman.

To date Hazel Mak has a repertoire of numerous projects with international and national artist, sharing stages with the likes of Tinie Tempah, 2 Face, Hip Hop Pantsula, Blasto, The Very Best, Oliver Mtukudzi, Tay Grin, Lucius Banda and Sauti Sol.

I normally criticize Nyasatimes when it comes to promoting useless musicians like Tay Grin. But on this one I will have to side with Nyasatimes. This girl has real talent and if she’s not famous, then big up to Nyasatimes for introducing her to all of us. I am sexist, koma the beauty of her music even surpasses the beauty of her booty.

a good music video doesn’t mean she is talented..i see u are now judging her music based on what she looks like…I think she is not creative musically…maybe she cud make a good video director or actress in a video but not whn she is singing and I have heard some of her other songs they are jus as bad
