Reunion Insurance donates K2.2 million assorted items to Beit Cure Hospital

One of the country’s leading Insurance companies, Reunion Insurance Company  has donated  various assorted items  valued at  K2.2 million to Beit Cure International Hospital  in Blantyre.

The donated assorted itmes  include food and groceries made up of 50 x 25Kgs maize flour, 4 bales of sugar, 2 crates of orange squash and 50 cartons of washing soap.

Reunion also donated guardian uniform ( 30 branded T-shirts ), and K1 million cheque towards a child’s burn contracture surgery.

Speaking after making the donation,  Chief Executive Officer  for Reunion Insurance Company  Dorothy Chapeyama said as a Malawian Company, they felt obliged to support of the noble task that Beit Cure does in supporting the nation.

“We are aware that Beit Cure International Hospital specializes in treating the orthopedic needs of children and adults and that all operations and clinical services for children up to the age of 18 are provided for free.

“ We acknowledge the work that you are doing to our country. We also acknowledge the business relationship that exists between our two organisations,” said Chapeyama

Chapeyama also said announced that it  pleases Reunion Insurance Company to adopt one bay in the surgical ward and that it is their desire to make the donation bigger in years to come.

She said they also feel that this donation is agreat way to give back to the communities that support their business and that have helped them to grow.

“We are also aware and appreciate that our customers from all corners of Malawi and even ourselves as employees of Reunion together with our family members directly or indirectly benefit from the health services offered by Beit Cure, thus indirectly supporting us and our business,” she said.

In his  remarks,  Executive Director of Beit Cure Rob Brown  commended Reunion Insurance  for the what he claimed was a timely donation.

“We thank  Reunion Insurance  for this timely donation. As a hospital, we treat several patients on a daily basis and  alone we  cannot afford to fulfil the needs of the hospital hence the need to have partners like them.”

He then appealed to other companies to emulate Reunion Insurance Company example.

Reunion Insurance Company, a wholly owned Malawian Insurance Company, was founded on 3rd May 2005 and this year (2017) marks their 12th anniversary.

Beit Cure International Hospital has served the community since 2002, and it treats children with physical disabilities and has also been providing high quality private patient services since 2003.
