Kasungu police deputy spokesperson Harry Namwaza confirmed the arrest of the father and his alleged accomplice in connection with the murder of Witney Chilumpha in chief Kapelura’s area in Kasungu.

Namwaza said the skull, the teeth and the clothes were discovered in a forest in the area by two women fetching firewood.

Mother to Chilumpha said two weeks ago that her daughter might have missed from their sleeping place around 2 am but only discovered around 4 am when she woke up.

She said the father of the girl was not in the house because he had gone out for work.

Exhuming body for rituals

Meanwhile, police in Machinga have arrested an 18 year old boy on suspicion that he dug and exhumed a dead person from a grave.

Police said the boy Fainos Walusa from Nyandule Village in chief Ngokwe’s area in Mozambique has since told the law enforcers that he was lured by a K2 million reward from a businessman who wanted a dead body of someone who did not die of natural resources for quick rich charms.

Walusa told the police that he did this in conjunction with  Sime Dyman, 60, sister to the dead, Chiuje Kenneth who killed himself through poisoning six years ago.

He said Jack Mtemula and him managed to exhume 10 leg and hands bones on April 7, 2016.

The police said his accomplices are on the run but Walusa has since been charged with trespassing, a charge that attracts a three month jail or K15000 fine.

I said it, even the mother for the missing slain girl knows something about the missing slain girl, how can some one come and snatch a baby without her mother knowing? The father is the master minder of the whole issue. Our police and our courts, these 3 months or K15000 fine, is that deterent?
