Robbers break into James Nyondo’s residence

Unknown thugs Wednesday morning broke into one of Malawi’s presidential hopefuls James Nyondo residence in the capital Lilongwe taking away with them several valuable electronic items, Nyasa Times can report.

Nyondo is National Salvation Front (Nasaf) torchbearer, and is contesting 11 other candidates in next week Tuesday tripartite elections.

According to Dominic Munyenyembe, Nyondo’s personal assistant, the robbers “must have jumped over the fence to enter.”

He said the episode occurred around 4: 00 in the morning

“Then they broke one of the windows and entered the house, taking with them Ipads and computers in which we keep most of our information,” said Munyenyembe.

Coincidentally, 14th May is also Nyondo’s birthday. He has turned 46 this year.

“We thank God no one was hurt,” said Munyenyembe.

Meanwhile police have taken up the matter and have commenced investigations.
