After delivering what many described as the best performance by a Malawian hip hop artist to date at BICC a month ago, performing with the Kamuzu Academy Orchestra and ABC Ballet, Third Eye returns with another concert that no one in Lilongwe can afford to miss.

Born Mandela Mwanza, the rapper-cum-poet, will this Sunday be marking another milestone in his music career with the launch of his DVD titled “Highly Underrated” at the Bingu National Stadium in the capital city.

Third Eye released the album in December 2016 but officially launched it on April 8. He has been working on the visuals for several months and now he is ready to give them to the public and he promises nothing but maximum fun come Sunday.

“I have been planning this event for a long time and everyone should look out for my A-performance as usual,” explained the lyricist.

Mandela added: “I will strive to be better and better always. Apart from giving the fans fun, I will use the forum to spread word on how youths can make it their responsibilities to ensure that the Sustainable Development Goals [MDGs] championed by the UN come to fruition.

“Most of the time, the youth don’t know what role to play when it comes to implementation of the MDGs. I will also dwell on the importance for the youths to be involved in policy making decisions.”

The launch concert has also attracted some of the country’s most respected artists among them Lucius Banda, Lulu, Hyphen aka Young Kay, Gwamba, Phyzix, Home Grown African, Malinga Mafia, Matse and the newly established Zathu Band.

Apart from the music activities, Third Eye has also roped in the country’s soccer powerhouses namely Nyasa Big Bullets and Silver Strikers, who will feature their youth sides for the launch of the Rediyo Shield bonanza, which he disclosed will be held annually.

The “Highly Underrated” DVD has been produced by award-winning video director GuftSukali, best known as Sukez under his HD Plus Creations.

The event is powered by TNM and Old Mutual. Gates are expected to open at 8am and close at 6pm.

E-tickets are selling via TNM Mpamba by dialing #444. Tickets will also be sold at the gates. Open stands entry is K2,000, Covered stands K3,000, VIP 5,000 and Corporate Box K10,000.
