As a country we should not celebrate this crisis credit facility that is given to poorest countries. It is a shame that world bank is given the loan out of mercy. Corruption is still rampant and chaponda is still walking freely after all the evidence against him.

Thom, is it you writing? Suddenly you waxing lyrical about APMs achievements and cant see anything wrong that APM and the DPP are doing? The loose cannon is now a DPP controlled cannon? Granted, you are entitled to your opinion and as a writer you are not supposed to always write negatives about the government. However, your last two articles are making any critical Malawian raise their eyebrows! Has Nyasatimes been given the proverbial “chibani”?

This is a very short sighted view of the events that have led to the donor resumption, and to say that the fovwrnenr has single handedly come to this point is both myopic and misguided. If it had not been for the opposition pushing government to investigate corruption, calling them out when they cut corners, making all the right noises in order to stop practices that led to the freezing of donor aid in the first place, this would not have happened.
