Silver, Bullets match nets K4.6 million

A total gross of K4.6 million was raised from Saturday’s TNM Super League big clash involving Silver Strikers and Big Bullets at Silver Stadium in Lilongwe on Saturday.

The figure is just less than half from the K10.8 million realized from the November 30, 2013 derby of Blantyre based giants Mighty Wanderers and Bullets played at Civo Stadium in Lilongwe, where each of the giants walked away K2.4 million richer.

Of the total amount at Silver, the two sides got K960,000 each with the ground owners- Reserve Bank also pocketing the same amount.

Football Association of Malawi (Fam) and Super League of Malawi (Sulom) got K384,000 each with Sports Council claiming a K192,000 share.

Police officers and game Stewarts received K240,000 and K238,000 with the rest going to cashiers and supervisors, first aid personnel and agents hired to man the gates.

Ball boys had a share of K3,000.

The hosts Silver Strikers won the match through a Chawangangwa Kaonga lone lone 37th minute strike.
