Fazili: Silver will go top

Fazili said this ahead of their tricky weekend fixture against another Capital City side Epac FC.

The Central Bankers will be inspired by last week’s 2-1 victory over Zomba based side Red Lions at the Balaka Stadium which moved them to second position dislodging Mafco.

“I am very optimistic that we will beat Epac and go top of the league for the first time this season. It will be a difficult game but we will do everything to take home all the three points and dislodge Blue
Eagles from the top” said Fazili.

Fazili said the absence of their man of the moment Thusso Paipi who is ill will not have any impact as they already have his replacement.

“Thusso is injured but that is not worrying us since we equally have other good players just like him. We will use the available players who at the end of the day will give us victory,” he said.

They have 16 points from eight games three behind leaders Blue Eagles who leads with 19 points.

The Eagles are on break this weekend according to a fixture released by the Super League of Malawi (Sulom).

Soldiers Mafco FC are on third position with 14 points while Mzuni FC and Nyasa Big Bullets seats on positions four and five respectively with 13 and 12 points.

In other games, Azam Tigers welcome bottom placed Dwangwa United at the Kamuzu Stadium while Moyale Barracks hosts Karonga United at the Mzuzu Stadium.

Kamuzu Barracks face MTV Max Bullets at Civo Stadium.

Games continue on Sunday with Mzuni facing Karonga United at Mzuzu Stadium while Wizard FC who are on number 12 will lock horns with Dwangwa United.

Struggling Civo United under their new coach Millias Pofera Jegwe will face  MTV Max Bullets at the Civo Stadium.

The Civil Servants have so far managed to bag in only nine points.

Mighty Be Forward Wanderers who are on position 10 and Nyasa Big Bullets who are on position five will be on standby for a couple of weeks having contributed several players to the national team
currently in Zimbabwe for an African Cup of Nations (Afcon) qualifying match against he home side.

The team will proceed to Cosafa Cup tournament in Namibia next week.

Meanwhile, Wanderers officials says the long break is a blessing in disguise as they will have ample time to rectify all the problems they have had since the season started.
