Silver drawn against KB, Epac Vs Civo: Lilongwe Giants Cup

Four capital city giants Silver Strikers, Civo United, Epac FC and Kamuzu Barracks will be battling in the High Four Lilongwe Giant Cup on Saturday following a draw held at Civo Stadium on Thursday.

K1 million is at stake according to the chairman of the Cup, Fred Kalonga.

In the early kick-off on Saturday, Epac FC would face Civo United before Silver Strikers clash with Kamuzu Barracks at the Civo Stadium.

Kalonga said games would be decided on penalty shoot outs after 90 minutes.

“There will be no extra time which means that teams should prepare for post-match penalties in case of a draw after 90 minutes,” he said.

He also emphasized that there will be a third place match on final day Sunday.

Kalonga said the main aim of the cup is to enable the capital city giant’s cement their relationship at the same time to find money which will go forward helping the players.

Interms of gate charges, spectators who will prefer to watch the tournament in the open stands will pay K500, while covered stands will cost K2, 000.

In the VIP stands, spectators will have to pay K3, 000.

High Four Lilongwe giant’s cup is coming a week after Intosports Giant Peace Cup which involved two Blantyre giants Mighty Wanderers and Big Bullets.
