Skefa heading to South Africa for a gig

One of Malawi’s top musicians Skeffa Chimoto who reached the scaling height on the ladders of the musical artists that matter in Malawi with his album ‘Nabola Moyo’ that took the country by storm and earned him a place amongst the counted. is billed to perform in Johannesburg on 7th of December 2012.

Organisers of the events are Assemblies of God in South Africa and South African based Malawian Artists-SBAM.

“We are trying to move away from the usual shows which are held on weekends. We want to do something different so we decided to launch this concept by bringing Skeffa who is quite popular in Malawi,” said Clara Thom Nyirongo.

The organizers of the event said the aim of the show is part of fund raising for the Church based in Johannesburg.

Chimoto: To perform in South Africa

Supporting artists includes: Clara Thom, Honest Kamanga, Trizah Titus, Peter Nkokeyani, Sunny Gardens Spiritual Group, James Banda, Arthur Sande, Millar Tepeka and many South Africa based gospel artist.

The venue is Cnr 20 Barnato & five street, next to Hillbrow Park. The show will start at 6:30 pm till dawn.

Chimoto is a popular Malawian musician and a member of the “Real Sounds” band. His sophomore album “Nabola Moyo” was well received and critically acclaimed, topping music charts all over Malawi.

While enjoying the rollercoaster ride that ‘Nabola Moyo’ had provided, Chimoto was all intent to show Malawians that he did not become a musician by mistake.  His latest album ‘Ndife Amodzi’ has one of the best tracks, the kind that the music industry has been craving for in ‘Ndakusowa’, ‘Sungamchose’, title track ‘Ndife Amodzi’ and ‘Ulendo’
