Soul Amp Entertainment has released new single “Words Follow” for promotion purposes in readiness for their Extended Play “2016 Decibels In Motion” scheduled for June 29 release.
According to the group’s producer Basssick, 2016DBIM EP is a compilation of songs which Soul Amp projected to release as a full album in 2015 but had to be shelved.
“The EP is waves of emotions that we have put on these decibels,” said Basssik. “We are not compromising our raps to conform to the time rather we are sticking to our guns which is expression through soul Hip Hop.”
He added that the EP is uncompromising boom bap rap that will take listeners back to the essence of the culture.
Production of “2016 Decibels In Motion EP” was done by in house legendary producer Basssik.
The EP has three guest features; Dee oh Dub, Tasha and Lilia.
The Blantyre based rap group is made up of 6 incredibly talented members, IceKapp, Gingy, Africa, Papi, 5Lettaz and Badman Nyau.
“Our main focus is to engage our fans and make music that we feel connected with people’s feelings, ambitions and emotions. Over the past years Soul Amp artists have performed at events organised by Coca Cola under the Coca Cola “Kuphaka Life” Campaign by Carlsberg Malawi as well as the Sprite Campaign. We have also worked with Airtel Malawi by performing at the launch of the Africa Music Awards,” Basssick narrated.
He disclosed that locally, Soul Amp producers and artists have worked with known Hip Hop acts such as Third Eye, Dominant 1 and internationally Trey of DreamTeamSA (South Africa), DJ Lab (South Africa) and Navio (Uganda).
He boasted: “We have also been accredited with songs in Hype Sessions of Hype Magazine (South Africa) Vol 17 with songs produced by Basssik. We pride ourselves in being a brand that is associated with tangible corporate social responsibility programmers, enhancing youth programmes and contributing to good Government policies for the greater benefit of Arts.”
