The World Freedom Day falls on May 3 and Misa-Malawi decided to commemorate it on Saturday at Nkopola Lodge in Mangochi.

Sparc Technical Sales Manager, Alena Chiwaya, who was accompanied by Technical Sales Engineer Esnor Bakali, said they donated the money because they realised the role which journalists play in the country.

“We have made this donation to Misa Malawi as part of the celebration of world press freedom day. We do believe in working with journalists because of the great role journalists play towards the development of the nation. Such as dissemination of information of business developments for companies like Sparc and also government information that needs to be channelled to the nation,” she said.

Chiwaya also reminded journalists that it was not the first time that Sparc System had donated to Misa-Malawi having also donated towards the same cause last year.

Misa-Malawi legal counsel Mandala Mambulasa hailed Sparc Systems for the donation.

Sparc System Limited is a leading multi-product system integration company operation in Malawi and across Africa.
