Speak to situations with power and authority

When Jesus was on earth, He exercised both authority and power when dealing with different situations. The Bible tells us that when He met with a situation that required Him to exercise power and authority; He did not wait but immediately rebuked the situation with power and authority. This makes me strongly believe that He did not want to give the enemy any chance that He spoke directly to the situation. “Resist the devil and he will free from you” (James 4:7).jesus bible

Luke 4:35, talks about a demon that manifested while Jesus was teaching in Capernaum. We see Him not wasting any time, but immediately rebuking the evil spirit in the man which immediately obeyed the command. The command that came from Jesus was with power and authority that any unclean spirit would not stand but realize that there time was up, but to leave. This is why during His time on earth; He made sure that He gave power and authority to His disciples over all devils, and to cure diseases. Take not that this was the time when Jesus had not yet died on the Cross hence the importance of Him going away to allow the Holy Spirit come and dwell in the lives of people which gives us power and authority over every situation that comes our way according to Acts 1:8 which tells us that; “But you shall receive power, after that the Holy Spirit is come upon you”. The moment we accept Jesus as a personal Savior, we become candidates to receive the Holy Spirit which gives us power and authority over situations. This does not select a group of people, but all who believe in Jesus Christ because He has already provided His healing or deliverance power and is placed on the inside of every child of God. It is up to us to release it by faith using the power and authority that has been freely given to us.

In Luke 10:19 Jesus said that “Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you”. What a promise! Power will always need power to be defeated. Our own power will not in any way defeat powers of darkness, but the power which comes from God through the finished work of His Son Jesus Christ as the Holy Spirit dwells inside the lives of believers.

These are no times to pray, but to speak to situations with power and authority. If you look at Peter when He healed a lame man at the gate of the temple called Beautiful, he spoke directly to the situation. Peter had the power of God that dwelt inside him through the power of the Holy Spirit, therefore giving him authority to speak to the situation.

If power and authority has been given to us, let us not put our on restrictions on what we can do. We are God’s children and in fact joint heirs with Christ meaning that everything that belongs to Christ belongs to us too. We therefore do not need to be intimidated with situations, but be able to speak with boldness for when we believe in something, we speak with boldness.

Let us be people who have faith that enables us to command situations with power and authority. God does not expect too much from us, but even faith as small us a mustard seed will do the job.

The words of our mouth carries with it the dynamite of God to effect changes to suit us. This is an aspect that most Christians neglect so much that when problems come their way prior to their words they put the blame on God.
The messiah said man can and will have whatsoever he saith {Mark 11:23b} whether good or bad.
Friends, when problems come your way don’t be troubled speak to them boldly for the power of attorney has been given you in the name of JESUS.

Prayer is good. Sometimes for you to move mountain you have to speak. There is power in speaking. Jesus spoke at the tomb of Lazarus who was dead for 4 days. There are numerous examples Jesus spoke and the demons flew.
