Silver coach says Feb 27 will be the day of title crowning
Silver Strikers says they will beat MTL Wanderers in their last game on February 27 to be crowned the TNM Super League title after they were denied a chance to defend the title grab the when title contenders, Escom United frustrated then to a goalless draw at Silver Stadium in Lilongwe on Saturday.
If Silver had won on Saturday, they would have been crowned champions.
“We will have to win our last game against Wanderers and be crowned champions in style,” said Silver coach, Daniel Dzinkambani.
“We are certainly defending the title. We could have started the celebration party earlier but people will still have to wait until February 27,” said Dzinkambani.
Silver have 58 points and will play their last game with Wanderers. On the other hand, Escom United with 51 points on second position have left with three games against Tigers FC, Big Bullets FC and Moyale Barracks.
Silver are favourites to defend the title as Escom need to win all their remaining games to snatch the title from the bankers/.
Wanderers were knocked out of the title race by Blackpool after a 2-2 draw on Saturday.
The Nomads are on third position with 51 points.
In Mzuzu, Big Bullets and Moyale drew two-all.
