Silver dislodge Escom at the summit of TNM Super League
Silver Strikers showed no mercy to Nkhata Bay United by demolishing them by 11 goals to 1 in the K60 million TNM Super League at Mzuzu stadium.
The Bankers, who have 45 points effectively, dislodged Escom United at the summit of the league.
Hero of the day Tony Chitsulo notched seven goals, Dixon Mbetewa jnr, Peter Mgangira, Blessings Tembo and Rodrick Gonani registered their names in the score sheet.
Silvers coach, Dan Dzinkambani described this wide margin victory as venting their anger for losing to Eagle Strikers the previous day by 0-1.
“My boys were furious with the loss to Eagle Strikers that is why we vented our anger on Eagle Strikers,” said Dzinkambani.
In Zomba, 24 hours after losing to Mighty MTL Wanderers by 2 goals to 1, Civo United lost again to Zomba United by 0-2.
However Civo’s Coach, Alex Masanjala attributed his team’s defeat to fatigue.
“After playing Wanderers on Saturday, my boys were tired and it was difficult to stand the tempo of the game,” said Masanjala.
At Area 30, Big Bullets were forced to barren draw by Blue Eagles.
Bullets returned to Blantyre with 4 points after they won against Epac United the previous day by 3 goals to 1.
