Standard Bank, GOtv launch payments partnership

Standard Bank Malawi customers now have the opportunity to pay for terrestrial television channel GOtv using flexible monthly installments following Monday’s launch of a partnership with the television service provider.

The partnership allows customers of the bank to pay for their GOtv decoders and initial subscription in three optional installments of K14,700 per month for three months, K9,700 per month for six months and K7,200 per month for 12 months.

Launching the partnership in Blantyre, the bank’s head of Marketing Chimwemwe Matonga said it provides convenience to Standard Bank customers by eliminating the barrier of upfront payment, which tends to put a strain on customers’ cash flow in these hard times.

“We recognize that our customers now require transacting their business under one roof and this arrangement has been tailored towards that need.” said Matonga.

To benefit from the offer, Standard Bank customers should sign up for Direct Debit Application forms available at their nearest Multichoice office or GOtv agent.

Multichoice will be responsible for processing the installment offer, currently only available for customers of Standard Bank in Blantyre and Lilongwe branches.

In her remarks GOtv Malawi Country Sales Manager Vyness Simbi said the terrestrial television provider was excited to strike a reciprocal partnership with Standard Bank.

“We continue to put the needs of our subscribers both new and existing first. This new service will provide convenience while eliminating the burden of having to pay the whole amount required to attain a decoder,” she said.

According to Simbi, the partnership with Standard Bank speaks the company’s commitment towards providing the best digital quality entertainment viewing at an affordable prize to a larger audience.
