Be in suits, no cultural Friday in Parliament -Speaker

Parliament has advised its members not to dress casual or anything cultural on Friday as being promoted by President Peter Mutharika who  directed all civil servants and those working in government agencies to be wearing casual clothes on Friday as a way of promoting Malawians products.

Speaker of Parliament, Richard Msowoya told Parliamenterians  that they will maintain their formal dress code on Friday of suits and ties.

“As you are all aware that there is a directive by the President who is championing the Buy Malawi strategy that on Friday, we all must be in our informal dressing, the business committee of this House met to digest on the matter however, there was a lot that was agreed to be scrutinised further.

“This therefore means that Parliament will maintain the normal dressing,” said Msowoya.

It will not make a difference even if they were traditional clothing. There is nothing that they bring to the masses to uplift poverty in rural areas. These peoples are hyenas.
