Super League of Malawi (Sulom) has slapped Blue Eagles Football Club with a K50,000.00 fine as well as banning their two players for act of violence in a TNM  Super League match against Big Bullets last weekend.

A verdict released by Sulom on Wednesday finds Eagles guilty of failing to control its players against unsporting behaviour during the match which is contrary to article 12 of the Sulom rules and regulations.

Two of its players Chimwemwe Chitedze and Elias Msukwa were also found guilty of assaulting referee Andy Kuseli and his assistant Harry Bitilinji after the final whistle.

Violence erupted after the match as Bullets scored their winning goal after the added time had already elapsed.

Tiya-Nsomba signed the Suloms verdict

The two players have been handed a K100, 000.00 fine plus a six months ban each.

Blue Eagles officials pleaded guilty to the charges and apologised, according to the verdict signed by Sulom Treasure Tiya Somba on behalf of the body’s secretary Williams Banda.

The fine which is totalling to K250, 000 is payable before the teams’ next fixture or risk losing points.
